To register a marriage it is necessary to bring the following documents:

• At least one of the spouses must be a Chilean citizen

• A marriage certificate issued by the appropriate local authority must be presented

• At the moment of registration the marriage must be classified as community property or total separation of assets:
  (when marrying in foreign countries the separation of assets is automatic)

• Both spouses must appear at the consulate with their respective passports

• The cost of this service is US$ 5
