People wishing to travel to Chile with domestic animals, agricultural
products or plants, must make sure that they have the following
documents:
-
Domestic animals, such as dogs or cats, must have a certificate of
animal health, given by a veterinarian. This certificate must show the
shots (vaccinations) given to the pet.
-
Birds, reptiles, insects, bees, fresh fruits, dry or dehydrated,
living plants, trees, bushes, meats, milk, etc. are products that in
some cases have restrictions in entering Chile. Some of them are
authorized with an official certificate (for agricultural products) or
an official sanitary certificate (for cattle products) given by the
corresponding American authority, which must follow the requirements
of the Chilean legislation.
Given the variety of existing situations, the interested person must
consult previously the Servicio Agrícola y Ganadero (SAG) in Chile,
