 Death Registration

To register a death, the following requirements are necessary:

  • The deceased must be a Chilean national of origin, or naturalized, or of another nationality, married with a Chilean citizen with a previously registered marriage in a Chilean consulate

  • The death certificate given by the responsible local authority must be presented, which must include the cause of death

  • The Chilean passport of the deceased must be brought so it can be annulled

  • IIf the deceased was married in Chile, the “Family Book” (Libreta de Familia) must be presented and/or the marriage certificate with some valid document of identification, for example, Chilean ID Card (Cédula de Identidad Chilena)

  • The person that it is requesting the registration of death must present valid identification

  •  In case of a deceased minor, the full names of the parents are required

  • The cost of this service is US$ 5.
